McJesus

Last night, Bangsar Young People and the mission team came over to our church to share with us. Normally, when we have family night meeting like this we'll have pot bless dinner. As usual, we, the young people will get our dinner and eat in another corner in the church. We always enjoy having pot bless dinner together and have fellowship with one another. This is another opportunity whereby we get to stay close to one another.

The Bangsar young people play a short drama with the title "McJesus". It's a very meaningful drama but you can't really understand the play without explaination. The message behind this play is very strong and meaningful. It's about the distorted view about Christianity. Nowadays, a lot of people, even christian themselves are not clear about the whole picture.

There are 5 types of christian.
1st : Everyday they are chasing for the world, which means more money, more power and so on. They knew this is wrong so every Sunday they will go to church to release the feeling of guilt. By going to church will make them feel better as if "at least we still go to church" kind of thinking. After that, they will continue their life of chasing after the worldly things. This kind of christian go to church to release the feeling of guilt.

2nd : Nowadays people are so busy with their own activities that they don't have much time for God. They will go to church every week for 2 hours, that's the maximum time they are willing to spend for God. They go to church just for the sake of christian has to go to church. They will rush back home straight after the morning worship. Nothing more than that. This kind of christian go to church just for the sake of christian has to go to church and they are not willing to spend more time for God.

3rd : A lot of people, especially youngsters thought that you can easily be famous by going to church. They want to lead the singing in church and dream that they are a super star. They want to be recognised in the church as the best drummer or best guitarist and so on. They want to popular. This kind of people like the feeling of being on stage and looked upon by so many audience. This kind of christian go to church to get famous and to have the feeling of being famous.

4rd : There are also people who are willing to work very hard and spend most of their time for God. They will wash the dishes, sweep the floor or do any kinds of job. But after sometime, they will become proud and thought that they do more than other christians in the church. They started to feel that they were holier or higher than others. They will start to judge other christians and say "you see he didn't do anything for the church, he's not faithful" or so on... This kind of christian go to church feeling that they are stronger than others.

5th : This is the kind that Christians should be. We should seek for the original Jesus Christ. We should go to church to worship God and to have fellowship with Him. This is the most important thing. God creates us to have fellowship with Him, no matter how much you do in the church, how much time you are willing to spend to serve, it's back to the basic, how much time you have spent to be with Him, to spend quality time with Him.

This strong message strucks me. I learnt a very important lesson. I might not be so much of the 5th type before this. I thought I was doing fine. But now I realize that there are still so much for me to learn. I know what should I do. I should look for Him, not for other stuff.
