Penang Hill Trip

Last weekend, I have attended the Toastmasters District 51 Leadership Retreat. A lot of doubts in my mind and I felt reluctant to go. I’ve no mood to pack. I worried that I’ll feel isolated and I can’t mix around with the other members as most of them are district leaders and I’m just an ordinary member. But I have no choice but to pack and go.

I drove myself to KK Chee’s house to meet up with Peng Yew. KK Chee needed our help to bring all his luggages. We reached the station around 4.30pm but due to the crowd, we only managed to buy the 6pm cable car. So we had to wait for quite awhile for the cable car. Poh Tin decided to bring us to have the yummy laksa down the road. Six of us walked almost 1km down to the roundabout to have laksa. It’s quite delicious. After the laksa, it started drizzling. We had to walk faster back to the station. I was quite bored waiting in the station for our cable car. Luckily my brother Andrew lend me his MP3 player and download my favourite Penny’s songs inside for me.

6pm, I thought I’m the youngest and I should help to carry the heavy and big luggages. We had to put the luggages in the container in front of the cable, then took it out to change train in the middle and took it out again when we reached Penang Hill. Soooooo tiring… I hurt my back. It’s painful but yet I dare not complain. The only thing in my mind was why I forget to bring the “magic sticker” (I’m not sure what is it called…it’s sort of a plaster to stick on your back) so that I can stick it on my back to help relieve the pain.

Once I reached the top of Penang Hill, it was so misty and cold. I was so excited. We walked a short distance to Bellevue Hotel. The rooms were not ready yet so we waited in the front park. I was so amazed. Although it was very misty and we can’t see anything there, but sue to the mist, the front park was so beautiful as if I was in heaven. I was so thrill to see such a lovely place. I felt loved. I felt like closing my eyes and dance on the field, but of course I can’t do that or else they will think that I’m crazy… haha..

After awhile, the rooms were ready. My roommates Bin and Mel were not there yet, so I checked in the room myself. There are 3 beds in the room. I like the outlay of the room too. Very spacious and cozy. There are 2 beds once you get in and there is another bed in a small compartment. I chose the isolated one. This shows that I really like to have privacy. I enjoyed myself bathing with the hi-tech ionized water. It is said that you don’t have to use soaps as it’s ionized water, but I’m not used to not using soaps, I find it weird, haha…. Since I’m alone in the room, I can bath as long as I like. I felt so fresh after the tiring journey and carrying luggages.

I went out to the front park, the mist had gone away. Now I can see the amazing breath-taking night scenery of the whole Georgetown and mainland. It was so beautiful with all the lighting. This was the first time I see such wonderful view. I tried to capture it with my camera but my camera has some limitation. It can’t perform to it best for night view but I still managed to capture some quite nice shots.

We had steamboat for dinner. It was not my favourite because no Tomyam. I ate anyway. At that moment, I think I reached the maximum that I can go. I’ve reach the state that people around me were busy chatting and it was so noisy but yet I can switch their “noise” to a very low volume and only heard the songs that I’m listening to. One thing I learnt from the steamboat dinner is to put an egg into my soup and it tasted delicious.

Before the first session starts, I went back to the room to eat my medicine. I’m still having flu. My voice was still sexy, hehe… I helped KK Chee to prepare the files and the ice breaker game. We were to introduce each another. I introduced Bin. I was nervous. I think the reason was I still can’t control my mindset and I was afraid because I kept thinking that they were all very senior so I can’t perform too badly. This not-supposed-to-be-in-my-mind thought makes me nervouse and perform badly. I was not satisfied with my performance. I should have get rid of that thought and I’m sure I can do much better than that. Everyone of us get a T-shirt and a directory. I was so excited to see the directory for the first time. Hehe…Shy to tell… I’m the cover girl for the directory!! ;-)

After the session, we went to the bird park where all our meetings will be held from the next day onwards to stick the quotations that we prepared. I was happy and satisfied to see that my hard work pays off. My quotations were the most beautiful…hehe….

I went to the front park with Bin and we chat. She told me about the Malay movie “Sepet”. It was an interesting movie and very touching according to her. I would like to watch this movie.

After a short chat, Bin went back to the room and I stayed in the front park alone for awhile. I sat there enjoying the night view of Penang and the sky full of bright stars. This was also the first time I saw so many stars on a clear bright sky. Many thoughts in my mind. I want to bring my family, my church young people and all my beloved friends here. I want to share this amazing moments with all my loves one. Tears filled my eyes. Not sure why..?? I felt cold as I forgot to bring out my jacket. So I went back to the room and sleep.

I woke up at 5am but I continue to lie on the bed til 5.45am. I didn’t want to miss the sunrise. I’ve never see sunrise before. I got out earlier to wait for the sun to rise. Around 6.15am, there were still many stars above and I started to see a red line. I took plenty of photos. I was so excited. Slowly, I can see the ray, so clear and bright. I snapped photos again. It was really very very beautiful. God’s creation is so beautiful, who else can create such a great art? I was so happy and contented because I managed to get some nice shots. I started to fall in love with this place. Next time I must bring a mat so that I can lie on the grass to admire the stars for the whole night while waiting for the sunrise.

Breakfast time, I like the toast with jam. Simple yet yummy. I ate my medicine again. I felt better. Then, I went to the bird park for the sessions. Now only I saw there were so many birds. I think the birds were all imported or specially chosen. There were big and beautiful parrots, blue, green, red, yellow and purple ones. There were also hornbill and peacocks. The meeting room was right in the middle of the park. We can hear the birds chirping.

We watched a short movie clip “Reach for the Stars”. It was a very meaningful movie clip. We should see things not only with our eyes but also with our heart. Look for the possibilities. Then, all the Division Governors shared their 4 months experience since they took office. Some of them were quite emotional. I get to see different characters and different personality. When you open your mouth to share, the words that came out from you reflected the way you live, the principles you hold on to and the attitude within you.

During the short break, I ate the sunsweet prunes, it’s very nice. I chat with the Hotel Residence Manager Azam. He’s a very friendly person. The room rate was not expensive. The room that I stayed in which has 3 beds only cost RM160. I can afford that, I want to bring my family here. I really want to come back again because I really love this place.

Sessions continued, I like Siva’s sharing session. I was inspired by him. I love a particular quote that he shared. I’ll write about this quote in my next post.

Division Governors were divided into groups for discussion. I was bored. I chat with Mel and Bin. I learnt a lot from Mel. I had a lot of new ideas on how to lead and encourage members. Sometimes, I just need to do a little bit more and the results will turn out to be a great different.

Lunch time, at first I saw the curry chicken, I thought that’s it for lunch. I didn’t like it as it’s all spicy food and I don’t feel like eating. Luckily they served asam prawn and fried fish. I ended up eating 2 big plates of white rice with 4 big prawns and some fish.

I went back to the room to get my camera to snap some photos of the birds. The next session started late again. All Division Governors presented their discussion just now. Bored again.

After that, it’s time for the building bridge game. It was quite fun. Again, I get to see different characters and different ways of doing things. There were so much to learn as an observant too. I learnt to know what I should do and what I shouldn’t do. It makes me realize that attitude is the most important thing of all.

4th session started 45 minutes late. It’s about the 2nd round TLI training. They discussed what they want to do for the 2nd round of club officers training. I started to feel sleepy as I woke up early this morning. A bit sore throat but I can’t stand the temptation of peanuts…hehe…

Clement came, another person to chat with…

Relax time, I borrowed a laptop from Francis to transfer my photos from the camera to my pen drive as my camera memory was low. The photos turned out to be so beautiful when look from the laptop. Very clear and beautiful. I was so happy and satisfied. Then, I went back to the room to chat with Mel, Bin, Clement and Peng Yew. Not sure why, I just felt that today I can’t really have the same channel with Clement.

Outdoor game session started very late at 7pm. The game was very fun but a little obscene. 9 members played the game. I think they really enjoyed it.

Tonight we had BBQ dinner. I thought we had to BBQ the food ourselves but only then I know the hotel staff actually BBQ it for us. We just need to get the food from the tray. It’s not much different from buffet dinner. I didn’t eat much due to my sore throat. All the food were either BBQ or fried…

I went back to take a bath. After the bath I felt more refreshimg and awake. I don’t want to feel sleepy for the next session.

Siva played a very nice and meaningful movie called “The Secret”. It’s not so much about people acting like the one we watched in cinema. It’s a few experts sharing their experience and thoughts on “the Law of Attraction”. I love this movie. I managed to jot down some notes. I think it’ll be very useful for me. It helps to remind me not to think of the bad side. Always think of what you want instead of what you do not want. Our thought will become things which means if we keep thinking of the things that we do not want, we were actually attracting the things that we do not want. So we should think of the things that we want. The other main point is we must be grateful with what we have. Suddenly, half way watching, something wrong with the disc. Didn’t get to finish the whole movie. Most of them want to call it a day. Luckily KK Chee told me that he has the disc, so I’ll borrow from him so that I can finish the whole movie and understand the whole picture. I’m really interested to learn more.

Most members were tired and sleepy as it was a whole day event. Some of them who were not sleepy still went to the hut outside the front park to chit chat and also to drink wine. I can't drink wine and I'm quite tired so I went back to the room to sleep.

I didn't plan to wake up early to see the sunrise. I'll want to have enough sleep. But since they asked us to have breakfast at 6.30am so that we can start the session earlier and end earlier. I woke up and went outside, thought that I was late. But who knows I'm the only one outside and the sun was also lazy today. So I still managed to see the sun rise for the second time. Of course, I took many photos again as no 2 sunrise is the same.

They served fried noodles for breakfast, I don't feel like eating oily food for breakfast as I know my stomach can't take it. So I asked Azam for toast bread with jam again as I like that. Azam was so sweet, he will always say yes to all our request. He's really the best manager I have ever seen and his service was really 5 stars.

We went back to the bird park to continue with our final session. First John Lau shared with us about membership. I liked what he shared. I learnt a few tips from him. Then Fong Ming conducted a session. This was a very special session and it's very meaningful. She asked all the Division Governor to stand in a circle, then sticked a piece of A4 paper on their back. The rest of us were to walk around and wrote something good about themselves to encourage them to serve better. After that session, they read about what others write for them and feel good. I think this is really good. I will definitely keep that piece of paper in my purse all the time and when I'm discouraged, I'll read and feel good again.

The whole event ended. All of us packed and took the cable car down to have lunch in Penang Sports Club.

I learnt a lot throughout this session. I think the organizer had made it a successful one. It really did charge up their battery and encourage them to serve and make them feel good. This is the whole purpose of the retreat. Almost all of us feel that this will be the most memorable event in our toastmasters journey.

I'm glad that I came. I won't regret for coming. I learnt so much more than I have ever expected. I'm grateful that I was given this opportunity by KK Chee to come to this retreat. I'm grateful for this opportunity... Thanks...

Brand New Day

Today is a brand new day for me!

After months of working, working and working, at last I resigned to fully concentrate in preparing for my exam. Today onwards, I'm no longer working. Only then I realized "work" has taken away a lot of my time for the past few months. I may regret for being so silly to drown myself with works to occupy my time, but I rather think another way that I should not regret because I did learn a lot and content with what I have been through. I'm sure every situations and circumstances that I have experienced will make me a stronger person.

Last night I was a bit worry or scared that I might not get used to this new life that I have, I kept wondering what will happen if I'm too free? I'm afraid that I'll feel lonely and started to think of all nonsense again. I'm afraid that I can't get used to these changes. I'm used to being busy. Basically for the past few months, I don't even have time for myself. My schedule was so full. Now when I open my organizer, I can see so many empty slots and this is not usual. I'm scared and worry. ( I wonder why we always tend to worry about tomorrow? ) I'm scared that I'll feel lonely. I really don't like that feeling.

I sms-ed Dave and he gave me a lot of encouraging words, which makes me realize that I'm not lonely afterall. At least he will be there for me. He assures me that I can always chat with him whenever I felt like it. I just saw that paper that he gave me last week that says "Plan for tomorrow, Live for today!"... Yeap, I may worry about tomorrow, but I should turn the worriness into planning, I should not worry about what has not happen yet but to plan for it, but yet I should live for today to the fullest! It really encourages me a lot and wake me up again. He's really an angel sent by God...haha..

Past is past...I'm now a full time student again...and I have back most of my time now so I must really appreciate my time well and use it to the fullest.

Today I woke up early, ask Juan See to go for breakfast together. There's a normal coffee shop that I always like to go for breakfast, I don't know what lane is that but it's somewhere near Komtar. For the past few months, every morning I'm either working or having classes so I never get to go there for breakfast. Since today is the first morning that I'm free, I really have to go and have breakfast there. So we went. We chat a lot in the car. It's always fun to chat with her. She's a sweet girl. I had the Chee Cheong Fun. I don't really like Chee Cheong Fun but only this particular store that I will go and eat. It's special and I think it's the best in Penang. The toast bread there is very special too. I had another toast bread. I was so satisfied and happy. haha...I'm so easy to be pleased...As long as I get to eat what I feel like eating, I'll be extremely happy and contented.

Then we came back to the library to study. I did manage to study quite a lot, can say after so long, this is the first time I really study and study a lot. I'm happy and really hope that this will be continued... At least it's a good start for the first day right?

Around noon, my dad called me and said that he's in Penang and asked me for lunch together. Of course being the "good" girl, I said yes..(because I know I can surely eat something expensive..haha) We went to Little Cottage for set lunch. That's a very nice place that I have been to twice and I really like that place. Just that I need to have someone to go with me. The first two time I went with the Toastmasters Division members as we had our meeting cum dinner there. This time I went with my dad and the place is still so lovely. The design of the shop is very cozy. The food there is delicious... I had scallop baked with cheese. The scallop was the biggest that I ever seen..(maybe I seldom see big scallop la..) and it's full with cheese...so cheesy and I really enjoyed that. I felt so loved at that moment... Hmmm.....yummy!!! And of course, the best part is my dad paid for the bill...haha..

After that he sent me back to college and I continue my studies. Now I managed to finish 3 standards which can be considered quite a lot. I taught Juan See how to write blog this morning and she's addicted to it..haha...so whole day she has been sitting in front of the computer to write blog. Now when I tell her I have finished 3 standards, she was so surprised and stop blogging already..haha..she's now studying but I'm blogging... haha..

Today is a great start for me... As a mandarin saying goes : A good start means a half success. Which means I'll succeed one day... haha... I'm really glad that it's not that bad as I thought. It's a nice day... and I started to like this new life. I should be content with what I have and make good use of what I have now. And most importantly appreciate what I have now... Thanks Dave for your encouraging words and make me start off this new day with a great attitude and happy heart. Thanks Juan See for being with me for this first day although you might not know I'm afraid last night.

Hope that everyday will be a super duper great day!!!

Last day at work

Yesterday was my last day at work in Penang Chung Ling High Schoool. I'm gonna miss it. I think I really like teaching... and I enjoyed teaching there.

I can still remember the first day when I accepted this job offer. I accept this job because I think the pay is quite high and I always like teaching. I thought teaching is not something difficult and it's my kind of job. haha...

The first lesson when I went to the school. I was a little bit afraid. It's a ALL BOYS school and I'm teaching form 4 students. When they first saw me, they acted so innocent and so angel...haha... just to attract my attention and trying to give me the false impression that actually they are not that bad afterall. When they first saw me, I know they were having some discussion among themselves talking about me. I'm not sure what they were talking about but I hope they were shocked to see a "pretty" teacher teaching them...haha..

Then the next week, they started to reveal their real self. They were not afraid of me, maybe because I didn't shout at them or act fierce with them. But lucky thing is they still respect me, yet they are close with me and dare to joke around with me. That makes me can't stop laughing sometimes. They can just out of nowhere tell burst out something that is so funny and I really don't expect them to do that.

Then weeks after weeks and months after months. After knowing them for 3 months, they change from angel to "monkey" ..haha...sorry to say this... To me, monkey is used to describe someone who is good at making others laugh and always bring laughters to others, so it's not so bad to be called monkey right? haha...

I'm really grateful and thankful that God has given me this opportunity to teach in this school when I'm having my tough time because this teaching experience really opens my eyes and feel my life with laughters and laughters...It also makes me realize that God has never abandon me and He knows what is the best for me. God's will is always so perfect. I have never thought of this will happen. It also makes me realize that God do cares about me and He's always giving me all the blessings... I'm really lucky...

Now I no longer teach them anymore. I'll like to wish them all the best in their future undertakings and exam is coming soon, hope they will study hard!! Hope that one day when I meet them some where, they will still call me and talk to me...

I will want to take all the students for playing a major role in making my 3 months teaching experience a fruitful and happy one. Thanks...

Remember the purpose!!

I always love to read some motivational books. I'll try my best to read whenever I have the time to do so, especially when I'm in the ferry or waiting for someone.

Currently I'm readong a book by John C. Maxwell and Jim Dorman with the book title "How to becoming a person of Influence". It's a very interesting book and I learnt a lot from this book. I'll like to share more about this book after I finish reading the whole book.

As for the time being, I'll like to share with you this interesting short paragraph that I truly agree with.

Paradoxical Commandments of Leadership

People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered – love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives – do good anyway.
If you’re successful, you’ll win false friends and true enemies – succeed anyway.
The good you do today will perhaps be forgotten tomorrow – do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable – be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest man with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest man with the smallest mind – think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only hot dogs – fight for the few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight – build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you help them – help them anyway.
Give the world the best that you have and you will get kicked in the teeth – give the world the best that you have anyway.
If better is possible, then good is not enough.

It's just like what I always say, we must always remember what's our purpose of doing something. Don't lose our vision. When we do something good to others, our purpose is just to do good to them, our purpose is not to get any rewards from them or hope to get something back. Sometimes we lose our vision, after some time when we treat someone nice and didn't get any return, we started to talk bad about that person or judge that person as someone who don't know how to appreciate and so on... So we should just remember our purpose is to do good and just do good. It doesn't matter if people don't appreciate it or treat us good in return. The most important thing is what lies within us... It's how we carry ourselves that matters...

Most of the times we tend to look at others mistakes or judge how other's perform, but we seldom look into ourselves and reflect how we performed. I think that we can't control how other's perform but we can control how we perform, so it's more important to look at own self and not to judge others because when you judge others, it will change your way of treating that person. It may not because of that person is really like this but it's just because we think of that person as we think it is...

In conclusion, we should always try to remember our purpose of doing something, don't lose vision and become ugly at the end... Live beautifully!!!

I am the luckiest girl !

After a few months of depression, I am glad to "announce" that I'm now FREE FROM DEPRESSION MODE... haha...

Lately, (I think is from September) I started to feel so lucky and loved by so many people. I realized that love is not just from your boyfriend or girlfriend, it can be from your parents and friends too. What you need to do is just to spend some time and think of how they have loved you. It's not difficult for you to realize that actually they really love you dearly...

I'll like to show my appreciation to some of my friends who has really contributed to this LOVE that I'm feeling now. You might not realized it but you really did help me a lot by showing your concerns and cares towards me. I really appreciate that. And I hope I can also play my part as your friend well too.

Ron - Kai Loon
My best friend since 14 years old.
Although you might not really know what's going on with me as you are studying in KL and I didn't really get to chat with you, I just want you to know that you really play a very important role in my life. Although I didn't get to share my sorrows and problems with you but I know you are always there for me and you'll surely support me no matter what.
Some of the times, I don't really have to tell you my problems, I just need to give you a call and just by listening to your voice, it actually makes me feel so comfortable and my tears will just roll down. I know you can understand how I feel even without telling you. (Now my tears rolling in my eyes again..)
Thanks for being there for me and making me cry most of the time...haha...

Rex - Chiu Siang
My best friend since 14 years old.
You too the same. Although you are just staying in Butterworth but due to some reasons we don't really get to meet up too...haha... But sometimes when I see you, I really feel so happy and I can just talk to you non-stop....Lots of things that I'll want to tell you... Someone whom I know will support me no matter what too...
Thanks for being my dear dear friend...

Shirley
A friend that I get to know since 2001 but we only see each other once in a year...haha..
Although we only meet once in a year when I go to Kuantan or KL, but whenever we meet...we have endless topics to talk on. We always tune in to each other and can understand how each other feel. You are the one who understand my feeling and really go through it with me. You know what's happening to me.
I'm glad that you are getting married soon and I really hope that you are happy always.
I'm planning to go down to KL to see you after my exam in December. Hopefully we'll get to chat for the whole day and night again...
Thanks...

Yao Tung
A good friend that I knew more than 1 and a half year back.
You are someone that I can tell all my secrets with...haha... A good listener! We like to "perli" each other sometimes. It makes our life more beautiful...haha..siao 1! Anyway, I really miss those days when I can just ask you out for a movie or dinner together and can just give you a call to "blah" out everything in my heart.
Hope that you do well in ShangHai and can get used to the "culture" there...haha..
I'll always remember you in my prayers.
Thanks for listening to me most of the times...

KK Chee
A friend who is also my mentor since 4 years ago.
You are the oldest or rather I should say eldest..haha..same la.. in this list. I'm glad to know you and you really teach me a lot. You have directly or indirectly contributed to who I am today. Someone who always assure me that I'm doing great to boost up my self-esteem and guide me in doing things, not only in Toastmasters doing speeches but also my life... I can just tell you any problems in my life and you'll surely share your thoughts with me and make me grow stronger and more mature.
The favourite line I got from you is "We can only Know Who We Are until We See What We Can Do". This is very true and I like this phrase very much. It serves as a motto for me to say Yes to challenges.
The greatest thing that I learnt from you is to share without hoping for returns. Our purpose is just to share and serve. Our purpose is not for others to pay us back, so it doesn't matter whether there's any return as that's not what we are looking for. You have shared a lot with me and because of that I know it's time for me to share too.
Thanks..

Juan See
A very sweet friend whom I get to know her because of a snatch theft case.
You are a very nice and caring friend among all the friends that I have. I think you are the first girl's friend that I'm so close with. You are also the first one to get all my latest "news". =)
Thanks for being there for me when I was getting through the toughest time. Thanks for being with me when I cried my heart out. Thanks for accompany me and makes me realize that I'm not alone.
I enjoyed the time when we are always the "good girl" in class..haha... Making fun and talk softly but laugh loudly...haha... It's really nice to be in the same class with you...(because you will always leave a place for me as most of the time I'll be late in class..haha )
And now...thanks for letting me bath in your place and hang out at your house whenever I have no where to go and feel so lonely. I see you almost everyday and I always get to update you with my latest news. I really hope that I can also share your sorrow and happiness too.
As friends, I really do care about you and it makes my heart feel so pain whenever I know you are sad. Just hope that you will always be happy...
Thanks...

Yueh Ching
A friend whom I get to know after the snatch theft case and the first one to talk with me.
Still remember how we came together and talk?
You might not be the first person to get my latest news, but somehow or rather you are someone who can understand my stories easily, I just need to tell you the summary...haha...
You are someone whom I always like to talk to, although we seldom have the chance to talk, but I do appreciate the moments that we talked.
Thanks for being there when I shed my tears too. A caring look from your eyes shows your sincerity and show that you really do care but you just don't know how to express it. I understand... You might think that you are not a very good friend as you don't really spent much time with us but I want you to know that I understand and I know you really do care. Sometimes I just need to talk to you and by looking at your face, it actually makes me feel better, you don't have to say anything....I'm serious!! haha...
Thanks a lot for the pillow that you made especially just for me..it's tailor-made. I really feel so touch and I hug it every night...haha..
Hope you can cope with your studies and don't stress yourself too much ya!
Thanks...

Pek Imm, Ying Wei, Jessie, Hooi Chuan, Siew Fen
My dear classmates...
Although you might not know much about my stories....but I'm sure you know a little bit here and there. I know you cares about me too. Thanks for all the "zo siao" time together. I really enjoy myself hanging around with you guys, especially the time when we travel around in Malacca and KL. I really miss those time. It's the first trip I had with my friends like this. There are so many sweet memories to keep.
Ying Wei, thanks for your massage. Your hands are really "powerful". You can always wake me up with your massage and relieve all my tiredness. Thanks a lot. Hope you can be happy too...and wish that you can be a lucky girl being loved by ..ehem....too..
Thanks and hope that we can still keep in touch next time. Sometimes I really do feel scared to think of we are going to separate soon as we'll be finishing our course soon. Hope that we can still keep in touch ya!

Christopher
A friend that I just get to know not long ago.
Surprised to see your name here? I just want to say that I really appreciate your time spent chatting with me in your car the other day. That night I was quite down, thanks for chatting with me and makes me feel better after that. You are like a big brother to me who always cares about me and "sayang" me. haha... I think you are really good at taking care of others... Not sure whether I'm right. Thanks for treating me Ice-Cream in Swensons...I really enjoyed that.. haha.. Thanks..

Clement
A friend that I only "really" get to know since last year.
I'm really grateful that you include me in your Super 18 team last term. That journey makes me stronger and I get to experience more things. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to realize my ability and the opportunity to do things that I never thought I could do. Although we don't really get to know each other very very well but we seems to have a lot of topics to talk on... haha...most of the time "bat gua" lo..
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to know myself better.

Ee Liang
A hi-bye friend that I knew for quite some time (don't even know when actually..haha) but just become "real" friend recently.
After getting to know you, somehow or rather, you reminds me of Yao Tung. Someone whom I can talk to. Although there was a little misunderstanding before this, glad that we talk things out and hope that I can really talk to you freely without having to consider whether the news will go out anywhere...
I'm glad that I get to know you better now. We "perli" each others and call each others "unique" name but this really makes life more fun...haha... You are a listener too. I really appreciate that whenever I'm facing any problems or upset with something, I know I can just give you a call and talk to you and you'll listen to me(because you have nothing better to do ma..haha..just kidding!).
According to "reliable" news, you are not so good in handling girls (because you mix around with uncles and aunties..haha) but I think it's not true. I do feel that you really care for me...
Thanks ya!

Dave
A friend that I just met once.
Although we just met once, but we communicate through sms. The amount of our sms are really scary. Our record is one day up to almost 40 sms and most of the sms are more than 1 page long. We have a lot of common thoughts and perspective in life. Just like what you say, sometimes I'm so shocked or rather amazed that there's another person who has such similar thought as I am. And more amazingly, last night we just found out that both of us has the same sickness. Haha...that's really scary to know someone who's so similar to ourselves. We always echo with one another's thoughts. I'm glad to know you and I really do learn a lot from you, your point of view towards life and your knowledge on certain aspect. Thanks for teaching me mind mapping, I'm sure it'll be a great use. I just realized that it can help me in memorizing all the bible verses that I always wanted to memorize but I just can't help it.
O...ya! Thanks for promoting me in your blog, I really enjoy reading your friends comment and praises for me..haha..
Hope that we can get to know each other better and find out the differences between us. haha..
Thanks for your cares and concerns towards me too...

Eunice, Lynn Say, Paik Ing, Rhoda
My church friends since standard 5.
We grew up together in the church. Someone who reminds me of what I should do and reminds me of my identity as a christian. Sometimes temptation is just so strong but once I talk to you, I know what I should do and I know He who's in me is so much stronger than the temptation outside.
I shared most of my problems with you. Although we only meet once a week, but I always get to update you with my latest news. It seems that I'm really someone who's not good in keeping thoughts, I must always tell others what's in my mind.
Just hope that I can be your listener too, as I really want to get to know you girls better. Hope that you can share your stories with me too...
Thanks.

I really appreciate you for being my friends. It proved to me again that no matter what happen there's a reason behind it. God has a plan for everything. That incident may be a tough thing for me, but now I can see the reason behind it and understand why God plan it this way. It's really a better plan, His will is greater than my will. Thank God for all these. Now I know the reason behind it is He wants me to understand and realize that there are actually so many nice and sweet friends around me, why should I restrict myself to one person. I should care more for my friends instead of just pouring all my cares and attention to one person. Friends can be very "sweet" too...hehe.. I will treasure all the moments spent with my friends....

I am the luckiest girl !!!

A meaningful story

Last few Sundays, one of my church youth told us a story. His name is Andrew Low. He's a potential speaker as he always has meaningful thought and the wonderful part is he shares it with us. It's a very meaningful story and I'll like to share it with you.

Long long time ago, in a far far forest...(normally story has to start this way, i also don't understand why...hehe..)
There were 3 tall and strong trees. They were too bored and started a discussion of what are their dreams and what they wnat to achieve in their life.

The first tree started : I want to be a treasure box. I hope someone will chop me down and make me into a nice treasure box for the rich people to keep treasures in me. I want to contain all the expensive jewlerry and diamonds. I want to keep all the treasures in me.

The second tree said : I want to be built into a big giant ship. Something like "the Titanic" but it's wooden. I hope someone will chop me down and make me into a big ship so that all the rich and famous people will sit in me and travel around the world in me.

The third tree said : I don't want to be chopped down. I want to continue to grow taller and taller until one day I can reach God. I want to stay tall so that I can be nearer to God.

After some years, a group of men came to chop down the trees. They chopped down all the 3 trees. The first and second trees were very excited as they really hope to be chopped down and to make them into the treasure box and big ship. But the third tree were rather disappointed and sad as it's dreams has broken. It can't stay tall and reach God anymore.

The men then made the first tree into a feedbox, a box whereby people use it to put some grass or food to feed the animals. It was so disappointed. It wanted to be a treasure box to contain treasures but now it had become a feed box to feed the pigs and horses.
One day, there came a parents with a young toddle. They were looking for a room. But there were no rooms left for them. All rooms were fully booked. But they really need a room for the baby to sleep and rest. So the innkeeper ask hesitantly whether they mind to sleep in the kettle. They asked for a bed for the baby but the innkeeper say the best they can offer is just a wooden feedbox. The parents had no other choice but to accept the offer. They laid the baby in the feedbox and 3 wise men came to visit them.
The feedbox suddenly felt so happy as there were so many people came to gather around it and look at the baby. Only then, it found out that the baby was Jesus. It was now contained the most precious treasure on earth, which is the Lord Saviour Jesus Christ.

The men then made the second tree into a small little sampan, where people used it to fish in the sea. It was so disappointed as it wanted to be a big ship for the rich... Now it had to go through all the rough water and contain all the fish...and some poor fishermen.
One day, there were a thunderstorm, the fishermen were so frightened and started to shout, but there was this man who was still sleeping soundly. The fishermen were surprised to see why this man can still sleep calmly in this condition. They woke him up and asked him. He then said, "Don't you know who am I?" and he then ordered the sea to calm down and the sea became calm. The fishermen were amazed by the superpower that he had. The sampan was shocked to know this person who can ordered the weather. Then it overheard their conversation and found out that he was Jesus... with the 3 fishermen...
The sampan suddenly felt so happy as the most famous person, the Lord Jesus Christ was on it.

The men made the third tree into 2 long planks. The tree was so disappointed as it thought that it was no longer near to God.
One day, the men nailed him into a cross-shaped. They nailed a man on it and the man was suffering badly but yet he did not complain. There were 2 other crosses beside it. The man on it forgave the sins of the other man hanging beside him. It were so surprised to see how come this man has the power to forgive others. He had to wore a mocking crown on his head. He was in a deep agony. The third tree felt so sad for him.
After overheard their conversation, it was so happy and overjoyed to find out that he was Jesus. The cross felt so happy as it was so near to God now, so much nearer than it wanted to be. Jesus was hanged on it.

The moral of this story is:
1. Most of the time we want things our way. We want to act according to our own will. Just like how the first and second tree. They thought their life purpose is to be popular and rich. They want it that way. But God has other purpose for us, which is so much better and greater than what we want. God knows what's the best for us. As long as we constantly seek God first, He will definitely gives us the best.

2. Sometimes things don't go our way, we started to grumble and thought that God has forgotten us. Just like the third tree, he wants to stay tall and be near to God. He thought this is a right life purpose to have as he wants to be near God. When he was chopped down, he felt terrible and thought that God doesn't care about him anymore.
It tells us that we should be patient in order to receive God's will for us. Sometimes we are so impatient and we want an immediate answer to our prayer. But God knows when is the right timing for us.

In conclusion, God knows best when is the right timing and right thing for us...
What He asks from us is to constantly pray, seek for His words and have faith in Him... and ALL these things shall be given unto you...

My Dreams

Someone asked me what's my dreams that I mentioned in my previous article of "True Love". It makes me think for awhile whether I should share it in my blog or not. But after reading the comment from TenSai, I realize that this blog is still MY place. I shouldn't worry so much. I should just share whatever I want. Afterall, I'm not committing a crime or hurt someone with intention.

I consider my dreams as "unique"...hehe... I'm not sure whether it's usual for people to have this kind of ambition or rather I should say dream. I wonder whether my friends will ever thought of me having this dream. Just hope that no one will laugh at me and thought that I'm having a very wild or weird dream. Anyhow, I will not bother if anyone laugh at me. Even my dad can't understand my dreams and don't really support me in this and even discourage me, but I'll still keep this dream in me and will never give up on these dreams until the day I die. I wish my dreams will come true...

First one :
I want to have a kindergarden for the poor children. I noticed nowadays a lot of kindergarden all around the place. The price of the kindergarden is so so expensive. The purpose of them setting up a kindergarden is no longer because of their love for kids but it's because they know parents will give their best to their children and will be more than willing to pay for their kindy fees. They can earn the parents money easily because parents will not want their children to be left out.

But how about those poor family? Don't they deserve an equal education as well? There are still a lot of kids who have never been to a kindy before they study Standard one. The reason being is they can't afford the fees. I want to have a kindergarden for the poor. All poor children needs more attention than anyone else, they need more love and care than anyone else. They need someone to boost up their confident level and self-esteem. They need someone to keep on encourage them and tell them that they can also achieve something one day. They need someone to bring out the potential in them. The need a platform to shine...

You will never know how much fun a kid can bring to your life if you have never deal with them before. I have taught in a kindy while waiting for my results last time. I really enjoyed that few months time. They are just simply amazing. They are so innocent and they reminds me of my purpose of life. Why should I keep bothering myself with all the problems? It will be so much happier without making myself miserable by putting tonnes of unnecessary worries on myself. God loves little kids, because they never worry about their future, they have faith in Him and know that everything will be in place. I know God loves me too, He wants to hold my hands and walk with me. Sometimes I worry so much and have so little faith that I dare not let Him hold my hands, I let go of His hand and tell him I can walk by myself not knowing what's coming in front of me. I'm sure there are many lessons that I can learn from these little kids.

Second one :
I want to have a building, something like "Tzu Chi" but it's Christian based. I want to design that place and let people find peace in that place. I'll have nice table, chairs and sofas with soft and meaningful christian songs as background, so that anyone can just come in and have fellowship with one another. I'll also invest in those christian books so that you can also come alone, pick a book and sit in a corner having your quiet time with God.

Third one :
After all my children has grown up enough to be independent (I mean if I have my own family in future..hehe..), I'll want to be a missionary. I want to travel to those poor country like Cambodia or so on, go to those rural areas to share God's word and my knowledge with them. I always believe that everyone should be given a chance to be educated. Everyone has the potential in them, they just need someone to help them to see it and to bring out the best in them. I want to go to places like this to help the kids over there and educate them.

That's about it. Although I'm not sure whether this is how God wants me to serve, I have to equip myself so that I'll be prepared if one day God's calling for me to do all these. Based on own experience, I also found out one thing. If your purpose is to serve God, God will gives you the skills and talents needed. For example, last time I can't sing at all. But after I'm the senior member in my church young people group and really got to sing, I prayed and God answers my prayers. Now at least I'm more confident to sing...(although it might not be the best but at least I'm given the ability to sing). Now what I can see is that, I'm given a lot of opportunities to deal with kids and teaching. I got a job offer to teach in Chung Ling High School next year after I graduate. It may be something that God wants me to learn and practise before I serve Him like what I metioned.

I'll continue to pray and ask God to equip me with all the necessary skills and learn as much as I can now. I pray that He will reveal to me whether this is His will for me but at the meantime, I'll wait patiently as I know He knows what's best for me and I have faith in Him. I pray that I'll not lose sight of my vision and God's purpose in my life.

Blog

I used to have a lot of things that I wanted to write in my blog. I still remember when I just started to have my blog, I was so excited about it and I always want to share my thoughts and ideas in my blog. I have so much to tell but yet I have not enough time to write it all out. I always complain that I have no internet access, I can only use the library’s computer for an hour per day which is not enough for me to update my blog.

Lately, I have time and I have internet access easily as I’m teaching in Chung Ling’s High School Lab. But I found it hard to write an article. Most of the time, I log in to my blog, look at the blank page but can’t think of anything to write. I don’t know what to write and what to share in my blog anymore.

It makes me realize maybe I have lost my purpose. I have forgotten the reason why I start blogging. What is a blog? What is the purpose of blogging? I asked myself these questions. Trying hard to find the answers. I thought I don’t know the answers, but I realize I actually know the answers just that I don’t want to accept the fact. I can’t believe that things like this will happen to me.

What is a blog? To me, blog is a place where I can pen down all my thoughts. I am someone who can hardly have a secret of myself or hide anything from others. I love to tell others how I feel and what I’m thinking now. I love to share my thoughts and discuss with my friends or whoever who read my blog. I love to voice my opinion on something that I find it interesting. A blog is a DIARY for me. It’s a place where I can dig out my heart and write anything I want. It’s not always easy to find a suitable person to listen to me. That’s the reason why I write.

Why I can’t think of anything to write now? I realized I actually still have a lot of things that I want to write but lately when I want to write something, my mind tends to think a lot. I’ll think whether what I say will hurt anyone or not. I’ll wonder whether people whom I don’t want them to read will accidentally visit my blog and read what I wrote. I tend to think a lot before I pen down anything, which ended up not writing anything.

It’s the little voice in me that makes me stop writing. It’s not because I don’t have anything to share. I’m still the same me who loves to share. I still really hope to blog as often as I can. But this voice in my head keep making me headache. Makes my fingers stop typing when I want to type.

What can I do now? I really don’t know. I’m so confused. I wish those who I don’t wish them to visit my blog, those who I don’t want them to know what’s inside my heart, those who I don’t want them to know my secret, those who I don’t like to share ideas with, those who I don’t feel comfortable sharing my thoughts with, those who I don’t like to read their comments will not visit my blog and read what I write.

You may say I’m selfish. Why should I limit or restrict others from reading my blog… Why should I only filter or choose who to read my blog… Who am I and what right do I have to do this… But I don’t mean that, I don’t mean to be selfish. I always want to share with people. I always remember my purpose of life is to shine and share as much as I can. I don’t want to be selfish. It’s not a choice that I make or can make. I just don’t want anyone to misunderstand or interpret what I wrote wrongly. I just don’t want anyone to be hurt by my unintentional thoughts. The world is like this. I might not mean anything bad, I may have the right intention but it will still turn out to be something bad to some people. I don’t want to harm anyone and I don’t want to harm myself too. I’m just trying to protect myself from all unnecessary misunderstanding…

But I know it’s impossible. I know I can’t stop anyone from doing what they want. The only thing that is in my control is myself. So the conclusion is I still have to think a lot whenever I want to write something. I can’t write freely what I want to write. I still need to be more considerate. I need to consider others situation. I need to look from another person point of view. It’s not easy…

It makes me realize that a blog is still a blog. It’s not a diary nor a personal space where you can write freely. How I wish one day I can really write freely in my blog. How I wish one day everyone will know how to respect others freedom to speak. I just want to have a place where I can share what I normally can’t share with others. I just want to have an open heart to share all the thoughts and feelings inside me. I just want to express myself…

True Love

Yesterday I attended St.Nicholas Toastmasters Club meeting. I was asked to talk on the topic True Love. I never really thought of this topic seriously or deeply before. Luckily I managed to pull through the 2 minutes.

What's is true love? I think it's very difficult to find a true love now. Even when you think it's a true love, it might become not so true anymore after some time. I'm really confused. One person who might tell you how much he actually loves you and gives you all the promises that you will be the last one, but after some time, things change. So how true is the true love? I wonder whether there's still anyone who believe in true love?

To me, true love is not just about love. It's far more than that. (That's why guys always can't understand why girls think so much) True love is more than just love, it's commitment, it's trust, it's respect and the list goes on and on and on....

I think it's more important to know how much effort you are willing to put into a relationship to make it works and turn that relationship into true love. It's never easy to manage a relationship. It's the toughest thing on earth. It's the most challenging yet exciting task to explore. Just like anything else, if you want a relationship to turn out to be a sweet and fruitful one, you have to put in extra effort in order to see the results that you want.

Love is not about how much your partner can gives you nor how much your partner is willing to change for you. Love is how much you are willing to give and share with your partner, how much you are willing to get to know your partner better and to learn to close the gap between both of you.

I wish that I can have someone whom I can share all my thoughts and feelings with. Someone whom I will not hide things from. Someone who can really go into my heart.
I wish that I can have someone whom I can do things together with....maybe partly of the reason is I simply don't like to do things alone.
I wish that I can have someone whom can understand my dreams and encourage me to reach for it instead of pulling me down and demotivate me. My dreams are different...it's not easy for others to understand my dreams...even my dad can't understand it..so sad :-(
These are just my own preference. Of course God is so much wiser than I am. He created me and He knows best what is the best for me. He might have a different set of criterias that He thinks is best for me. No matter what, I believe He knows what's best for me.

I know there are a few lessons that He wants me to learn before I get into the next relationship so that when the next guy appears, I know what I should do and what I shouldn't do. So I told myself, in this 1 year time, I'll not want to make any impulsive decision which is my own will but not His. I give myself 1 year time to get to know as many people as I can. Learn all the lessons that He wants me to learn. Open my eyes real WIDE to see properly this time so that I'll not be hurt again in the future. It's not easy to get to know ones true self. Need time... I need a long time to really get to know someone. Normally guys will act differently when they want to attract your attention... So I must open my eyes wide to see properly and really get to know that person well before I ask God that question "Is he the one?" again...

All the best to myself....for this coming 1 year. Looking forward to know what will happen next year this time. ;-)

Nice lyrics

My friend was listening to songs while sitting beside me in the library using her Discman. I took the songs lyrics and just flipped and read. I like the lyrics very much as I think it's very real. A successful lyrics is one which the listeners or people who read it can relate their own stories with it. When they feel related or personal, they will like it and more likely to accept it.

There are two songs which I'll like to share with you.

First song...

The lyric is a bit like the song sang by Fish Leong. In Fish Leong's song, she sang that even when we break up we must be happy. But this song is special as it says, when I break up, for the time being I am not happy but I believe after some time I'll be fine. Isn't it more practical? How can you expect someone who just break up to be happy? Everyone needs time. So this is more practical and more realistic.

Second song...

委屈

我知道的
已经是越来越多
我只等你主动开口
坦白对我说
越靠得进
越暴露我们的寂寞
这样的爱 远比分开
还要更难过
I’m Sorry 你说
最后还是选她不选我
尽管我陪你撑过生命之中 最坏的时候
我的温柔暖和的双手治好你的伤口
可是你说爱情世界
已由不得我
I’m Sorry 你说
不想看我委屈的难过
虽然我还要比她更了解你 心里想什么
要我放开 要我明白 是你要我接受
此刻的我 却失去自由
I’m Sorry 你说
最后还是选她不选我
尽管我陪你撑过生命之中 最坏的时候
要我放开 要我明白 是你要我接受
此刻的我 却失去自由
此刻的我 却失去自由

I immediately relate myself to this song and I think it really expresses my feeling. It's saying... "I already know a lot about it but I'm waiting for you to start the conversation. Relationship like this is more miserable than separation. The only thing that you say is I'M SORRY. At last, you chose her instead of me. Although I've gone through so much with you, be there for you when you are facing the worst moments, but you say it's over. Although I understand you more than she does, I know what's in your heart, but you want me to let go and hope that I can understand and accept. " Isn't it so true??

I'm not sure how you feel about the songs, maybe only those who have their own stories can understand the meaning. Anyway, songs lyric is a very good way to express your feeling for others to get to know you more when you don't really feel like telling them straight.

My friend Yao Tung

Yao Tung is leaving to ShangHai, China this Saturday. I met up with him last night and passed him the small little gift that I made for him. It's a photo with many small little photos in it. It carries most of the memories we had together.

When I'm preparing for the gift, it makes me flashed back my memories and think of a lot of things too. I'm not very sure and I can't recall how we(Mooi Ying, Yao Tung, Steven and I) ended close 1 year ago. We just knew each other 15 months ago. It seems like we have known each other for a very long time already. I'm not sure how 4 of us just clicked and started to go out together quite often. Of course, most of the time we spent for FOOD...

I still remember we used to had a dream to climb Mount Kinabalu together and because of this dream we went for hiking quite often, but ended up the dream is not realised. :-( Anyway, still thanks to this dream that we get to spend time together and get to know each other better.

I still remember my 21st birthday. I spend the whole midnight with you guys, chatting on a bridge in the middle of the sea. Unforgettable...

It's very complicated..(I mean my feeling)...when I know that Yao Tung is leaving. I started to think a lot. I know I should be happy that he get to do what he wants to do. He loves travelling and wants to get more exposure. It's a great opportunity for him..(actually the main reason behind it, is..ShangHai is famous for pretty girls...GREATER OPPORTUNITY...just kidding..) to experience different thing and learn different lesson and of course get a larger market for his future wife too... But at the other hand, I'm sad to know he's leaving. He's really a nice friend and I really do treasure this friendship and scared that it will just end this way. I'll be losing a great friend again.

In this 1 year, I have been sending off 3 of my good friends.
First one is Steven who went to Australia to further his studies last year July. I was quite sad at that time but I know surely that we will still keep in touch and stay close with one another. I thought he'll be back soon and we'll still be with one another. That's why I didn't really feel that pain yet at that time. I can still hold my tears when I sent him off in the airport. It makes me feel even better to know that I still have my good friends Mooi Ying and Yao Tung with me. But now only I know that Steven will never be back again. He'll be gone forever. He's now no longer close to me. He's now no longer keep in touch with me and all the feelings are no longer the same anymore. He'll not come back to me anymore. I've lost him completely.

Second one is Mooi Ying who went to Singapore to work beginning of this year around February. I was quite sad too. Although I'm not really that close to her but I still treasure the friendship with her. Although she might not know how much I appreciate her, she's still a great friend to me. I still remember how kind she is to invite me for the paintball game with her friends. We spent most of the time eating and chatting too. I love the time when we practise hard for the Hip Hop dance. I really enjoyed it very much. I didn't get to send her off. I keep telling myself that it's just Singapore. Not very far. We'll definitely still keep in touch. It makes me feel better to know that I still have Yao Tung here with me. But now it seems that we seldom really communicate. Rarely I met her in MSN. But I'm glad that she found a job which she enjoys doing. I'm glad that she is doing what she likes now as I remembered she once said that her dream is to study in Japan and working in Singapore is part of the process to realise this dream. I know if I go to Singapore one day and call her, she'll still see me if she has the time. But I hope she do remember to give me a call too when she is back in Penang, I'll definitely meet up with her...

Now the third one is Yao Tung who is leaving to ShangHai to work this Saturday. I'm sad...very sad... This time nothing to make me feel better as there's no one here for me anymore. 4 of us and now I'm the only one. It really makes me realize how important friends are to me but sometimes I know I did take for granted without I noticing it. The saying is so true that we'll only realize and appreciate things when it's gone. I still remember we used to go hiking often and have dinner together after that. I know I can always go to him when I'm sad and down and when there's no one beside me. He might not be expert in expressing his thoughts and he's somewhat a quiet person, but he's a good listener... I'm not sure how our friendship will be...Will it last or will it lost?? I really hope that we can still keep in touch.

Last night, I asked him what he thinks about me. He gaves me a piece of advice which really helps. I'm bossy sometimes. I know that. I'm still trying my best. Sometimes I may have my own dream, own vision and direction and I expect others to follow MY way. I know it's not right. I'm trying hard to solve this attitude of mine. Sometimes when no one wants to say anything or make any decision, I'll just say what I think and thought that that's the best way, not knowing that actually majority don't think that way and are actually grumbling in their heart. I really appreciate that he actually say it out and let me know. I need people to remind me my mistakes and tell me how I performed in whatever that I do.

The only thing I'll like to share with him is that no matter what happen in future, always do remember what's your purpose in life. Sometimes we tend to get too involved in something or too blinded by some emotion and we forgot what's the real purpose of doing it. Don't lose your vision here, carried away by emotion. Remember to smile even when no one smiles to you. You can make the difference.

Wanted to ask him a question which I did ask Mooi Ying before she left too. "When you are in ShangHai, will you sometimes think of me and miss me??Will you?". Please say YES even though you don't. Anyway, I'll assume that you are a person who don't really express your thoughts so you actually do miss me..hahaha...

Lastly, he's really a nice friend and someone who really plays a big role in my heart. I really appreciate this friendship. Thanks a lot. Hope that he'll be happy always and do what he loves to do. Take care ya, my dear friend!!

One Vision

I'll like to share with you the lyrics that I have mentioned in my last blog "Family Night". You might not get to hear the wonderful melody but try to understand the lyrics and think about it.

One Vision
You may have the right intention.
Your purpose may be the same.
But you may not use the right words,
And it will end up not the same.

Sarcastic words, heart-aching words,
Make me cry deep down inside.
Encouraging words,
Motivate me up.

Chorus:
Don't lose your vision here,
Carried away by the emotion.
Try to look back and say,
What is my life, without you O Lord.
Always remember what God has for us.
Always remember what God promises us in our life.

You may want to be recognized.
You do things that can be seen.
But how unimportant a task is,
God still keeps a record of it.

Popularity, fortune and fame,
You may have the glory from men.
Unseen works and deeds,
God will reward you indeed.

Chorus:
Don't lose your vision here,
Carried away by the emotion.
Try to look back and say,
What is my life, without you O Lord.
Always remember what God has for us.
Always remember what God promises us in our life.

You may want to help others too.
You purpose is to serve God.
But along the way, after some time,
Things changed, you start to complain.

A dirty thought, and much complain,
Lead you to misjudge others.
Be content and love,
One another today.

Chorus:
Don't lose your vision here,
Carried away by the emotion.
Try to look back and say,
What is my life, without you O Lord.
Always remember what God has for us.
Always remember what God promises us in our life.

Family Night

Last Sunday, we had a family night in our church organized by the Young People. It was a successful event and I'm so happy and so proud of all the young people, especially the Organizing Chairperson Eunice and the Food Coordinator my dear sister Ann Lee. I really enjoyed the whole session, from the planning stage to the preparing process and the event itself.

We did something different this time. We had a cooking competition to replace the normal pot bless dinner. The theme for the cooking competition is "HomeMade Special Recipe" whereby it's your special recipe that you can't buy it from outside. We also had a special gift for the winner. We bought a chef hat and wrote the word "BWGH Chef 2006" on it. Thank God that all church members had been so cooperative that they really put in their effort to prepare for the food. I think this is the first time in history that all the dishes was finished. It's so delicious, especially the drink...Why I promote the drink?? Because it's prepared by us the Young People and we named it "Lava Lava Lava", creative name by Sherlynn. What's so special about this drink? I would like to share and tell you how we made it, but since it's "Homemade SECRET Recipe" so I'm not supposed to tell... haha... If you are interested to know, give me a call and we'll negotiate for the copyrights fees... hehe...

We decorated the dining place differently too. Some of the Young People who were not there to help might not understand how tough it is to put up the cloth on the ceiling. We had tried so many ways and really struggle to put up that cloth. The wind was so strong and it's so hard to hold the cloth. At one point, I almost gave up because we have no ideas at all how to tight the cloth up there. Somemore it's so dangerous to climb on the shaky old staircase. But luckily we have a very perservere member Shin Yi who tried and tried and tried. She kept think of all sort of ideas to help. She's really wonderful. She thought of the idea of tying it with the cloth and it works. So I dare not say give up after seeing her determination. I used her techniques and managed to tie it.

After that, we had a drama session as the main event. We were divided into 3 groups. First, the "men square" - all men. Then the "ladies circle" - all ladies. And we the Young People. Everyone participated and enjoyed themselves. Not only they enjoyed acting but also enjoyed watching others act. It's so great to see church members to act. It has been a long time they were given a chance to act. It's a nice way to allow them to show their talent and some of them were really talented especially the "ladies circle" group. They really put in their effort and performed extremely well. We never know that they can be so humorous.

We, the Young People, acted 3 scenes with the theme "One Vision" which is to stay focus and always remember what's the purpose of us doing something. Last week during our practise, I suddenly came up with the idea that maybe we should have a song that is related to our drama, so I suggested our very talented composer Andrew Low-our own Young People to compose a song for the drama. He accepted the challenge but he asked me to write him the lyrics. Of course, I accepted the challenge too. It was my first time writing a real lyrics that will be composed into a song. I was so excited about it. Kept thinking of it every night when my lyrics has been passed to Andrew. I'm so looking forward to the day to listen to the song.

Sunday morning, Andrew Low taught us how to sing the song. The melody that he composed was really so nice. I felt like crying when I first listen to it. I'm not sure what's the reason, maybe I was so touched and never expected that there'll be someone who compose a song using my lyrics. Andrew Low also thought of a very appropriate title for the song called "One Vision". We performed it on the stage after our drama. Every Young People was on the stage singing their hearts out. I think this is also the first time Young People can sing so loud. This was the first time I felt so great and can really felt God's presence.

That night, I went to bed early. I took some time to reflect some of things that happenned for the whole process of preparing for this Family Night. I really want to thank God for giving us the talent and showing us the way on how to make good use of the talent that we had. I'm glad that the Young People too know how to make good use of their talent and serve God. I prayed that we will always remember the songs and the lyrics, not only to remember it but also to apply it in our daily life to walk closer to Him.

I would also like to thank all my YP member for giving me such a wonderful memory. I had not been so happy and feel so joyful for quite some time after the sad incident. This wonderful experience had made me stonger and I'll try my best to cope and I know I'll do more than just fine but WELL. Thanks...

Heart Broken!!!

I know I'm not the best girl friend in the world.
I know I've not been a perfect mate for you.
I know I've not met your expectation.
I know I'll not be the one for you anymore.

I thought you said I'm your first and your last.
I thought you said you love me dearly.
I thought you said you want me to go through life with you.
I thought you said we are going to work things out.

I thought our relationship were stable.
I thought we'll definitely walk hand in hand til the end.
I recognize you as my husband and the one who I want to go through my life with.
I've dreams and plans about our future, our marriage and our family.

Last few months I've been so certain about our relationship.
I've been telling others how great you are and how loving we are.
But things just change in a blink of an eye.
Five years of relationship ended just like this.

I might not understand why and what wrong did I done.
I dislike changes as you knew.
But I've to accept the fact that your love and feeling towards me have changed.
And now my life and my world had to be changed too.

Thanks for your care and love for this 5 years.
Thanks for being a great companion to me.
Thanks for going through thick and thin with me.
Thanks for making a point to tell me straight what's in your mind.

Wish that you'll get to study hard and finish your course with great result.
Wish that you'll do what you are happy doing.
Wish that you'll continue to walk closely with God.
Wish that you'll be happy to be with her.

Congratulations to you that you have found your love one there and hope you will appreciate her.

World Cup Final

Last night (or should I say this morning?) World Cup Final Italy vs France. I supported Italy and .....hahaha.... Italy won!!! Yeah!!!!

I knew Upper Penang Road has this street party but I don't know anyone who will like to watch it there. Not my classmates of course, as they(not they, we.. ;p) have classes from 8.30am. So most of them will not want to stay up late to watch football. So I dare not say anything and just let the 1 in 4 years opportunity fly away.

Until Yao Tung called me in the afternoon and asked whether I'll like to go and watch together... wow~~ I'm so happy and excited at that moment... haha... at last someone wants to watch there too... So Wei Nien, Han Chern, Yao Tung and some other friends (9 of us) meet there at 12am. I parked my car in Yao Tung's house and tumpang his car... lazy to find parking... hehe...

We reached there, met up all 9 of us, can't find a place to sit in Sega Fredo. That place was really crowded. Many people drew the flag of the country that they support on their face, but can't really differenciate it as both the Italy's and France's flag are quite the same, just the different of green and blue colour. Anyway, the main point is a lot of leng chai and leng lui.... hehe...

They were some performance on the stage before the match starts. The MC was very hilarious... he's a guy but in a girl's body.... wearing a sexy short mini skirt, very lemak and "hiao" but it really makes the environment very lively and happenning...

Then our Penang Chief Minister Khor Tzu Koon went on the stage to address his speech. Once he said "Thank God for the nice weather..." the rain starts pouring... haha... then we have to move inside the building and everyone started to cabut... they even take down the big screen already. Really heavy rain....

It's only around 1am, we were quite hungry, nothing to eat there, so Han Chern, Yao Tung and I decided to go to the mamak stall at the next road to have something to eat before the match starts. The rain is so heavy that even though we are under the umbrella yet we were still wet....soaked... especially my shoes and socks... yiaaks....

We chat a lot in the mamak stall. Realized something fishy with Han Chern... haha... no offence... but the way he talks or rather the conversation with him is really funny... I can still laugh now when I think of it. I realize one thing about Han Chern, when he's up to something, he's really not good in hiding it, the "secret" will spill out without him noticing. Haha... anyway, this is a compliment ya!! That shows you are a very honest person and will only tell the truth, even if you are not telling the truth, people will know it EASILY. haha...

After makan, we ran back to the pub (is that a pub? I'm not sure. Doesn't seems like a pub to me.). The match starts right when we sit down. Some of us support Italy and some France. I enjoyed watching football with friends rather than staying alone at home to watch. At least someone to share my thoughts with. But I'm quite uncomfortable sitting there. It's very cold. My back, my pants and my shoes and socks are wet, the air-cond is facing me. My body is shivering. So cold.................................

Finally, it's a draw between the 2 countries. Penalties.... So "gan chiong"... as Italy has never won a penalty before....but wahahahaha....Italy won 5 v 3. Hahaha.....so happy....especially when many people cheer together when they score a goal... That kind of feeling...once in a lifetime....

Then we ran back to the car, still raining... I wonder whether they hire a "weather consultant" this time??? Anyway, wet again....

When I reached Yao Tung's house, something wrong with my car remote. I have to use remote to open my car door, but it can't work. The alarm keep making loud noice and it's already 5am. We were so afraid that it will wake the whole neighbourhood and I'm really so pai seh.... After some trying... still cannot...No choice, have to trouble Yao Tung to fetch me to my friend's place. Have to wake my friend in the middle of the night to let me in for the night... I'm so glad that I have a bunch of really nice and sweet friends...

When I reached my friend's house, it's almost 5.30am already. My mind was still active... can't rest, so can't sleep. Until this morning have to attend 8.30am til 1.15pm class. So sleepy, my body was sleeping, left my eyes wide open, my mind can't function, it's blank. Now after class, had my lunch, still can't go back to take a nap like what I have planned as I have to wait for my dad to bring me the extra spare remote and get my car. I'm back in library now but of course I can't study, can't even focus, it's only black wording on white papers. But computer, online and blogging---different story...hehe...

Hope that my dad will come soon so that after I got my car, I can still take a short nap so that tonight my first day of work, I'll not perform too badly. I'm quite looking forward to this new job, although dead tired.... Have to work til 10.30pm then only will get to rest PROPERLY.

Thanks for inviting me to watch football together, I really enjoyed it very very much....

The most Romantic Birthday I ever had

Today is my birthday. Nobody seems to say anything. Even when I'm in college, my classmates didn't even tell me whether tonight they will celebrate with me or not. I have no clues at all, where to go, who will be going, what are we going to do....????

In the evening, Yueh Ching ask me to fetch her to the Naza Beach. I still don't know what they are up to. I wonder why they don't want to go for dinner first but rather come to the beach first. I'm quite hungry actually.

Then later Juan See, Pek Imm, Hui Chuan and Kok Keng arrived. So sweet of them that they actually cooked me dinner. Juan See cookedhe special recipe spaghetti that I taught her last time for me. It's nice. Pek Imm cooked some nuggets and french fries. Hooi Chuan bought me my favorite drink -- the apple juice with aloe vera. I only told them once that the drink taste nice and I love it, they actually remembered it and buy it for me. I'm so touched.

We ate and we chat. We played games while waiting for Jason and Ying Wei. Around 9pm, all arrived. They FORCED me to sit at a corner ALONE ...sob sob... and all of them ran to a far corner to do something. I have no idea what they are up to at all. They never mentioned anything to me. I sat there alone, nothing to do, mind start flashing back a lot of memories.

I supposed to celebrate my birthday in Australia this year. We have been planning for that for so long and I really look forward to it. This is the first time I celebrate my birthday without Steven by my side since 2001. Sad...

After about 20minutes, they asked me to close my eyes and follow them to that corner. I listened to them and obeyed their instructions. Close my eyes and let them bring me to the place. Once I opened my eyes, I was stunned, speechless, can't believe what's in front of my eyes. Kok Keng actually used the wyre to bend my name -big letter word AMY and make it 3D, stick some colour paper on it and put candles underneath so it's so beautiful, my names shining. Then they brought out the cake, they know my favourite cake -- Chocolate Mint cake. They put 22 candles on it and it filled the whole surface of the cakes. That's not the end yet, they even bought me a rose. So sweet of them... I almost cry.... They sang and as usual, push my face into the cake, but just a bit to get some cream on my nose to take a silly picture of me.

I was really so touched. Cooked me dinner, favourite drink, candles underneath my name, favourite cake and rose. It's really a surprise for me...

I never thought that I'll have such a romantic birthday celebration in my life. The most romantic birthday in my life... I started to feel guilty. I wanted to say sorry to them but I didn't. Sorry because all these while I thought romantic is equivalent to boyfriend or husband, I never thought the romance from friendship can be such great and awesome. Sorry for didn't expect you guys will do this for me, I thought we'll just have a simple dinner somewhere and that's it. Really sorry for underestimate how great you guys are. My tears start rolling down now when I think of it. I wished I said sorry to you all. Ended up, I can only say thank you.

Really thank you so much for this memorable moment in my life, I'll never forget this, I promised. But most importantly, I'll never forget the friendship and love you guys showed to me. Now I realized, how important and significant friends are, especially you. Sorry if I have not been that caring, I learnt and realized what can friendship do. It's so powerful. I believe and I dare to say this loud, even if I'm in Australia with someone I thought I love, I'll never have such romantic moment and great moment in my life.

Juan See, Pek Imm, Ying Wei, Yueh Ching, Kok Keng, Jessie & Jason, thanks... you really brighten up my life and open my eyes to realize how powerful friendship can be. You are really superb!!!

Lewin's 3-step Model of Change

Today I learnt a very interesting theory in my Paper3.4 Business Information Management class just now. While my lecturer was teaching this theory, my mind wonders around. I started to think a lot and realized that this is a very practical theory whereby everyone should learn it. Therefore I'll like to share it with you...

I'll first share with you what this theory is all about before I share with you how can we apply this.

Lewin's 3-step Model of Change is about a process of changing behaviour and attitudes. Lewin suggested 3-step process for successful change.

1) Unfreezing existing behaviour
Create the initial motivation to change by convincing him or her of the undesirability of the present situation. Create the awareness of the need of changing and improving oneself.

2) The change process itself
Identify what the new behaviour or norm should be. This stage will often involve new information being communicated and new attitudes, culture and concepts being adopted.

3) Refreezing or stabilising the change
Implying reinforcement of the new pattern of work or behaviour by rewards (praise etc). Develop the belief that the changed situation satisfies personal values.

To futher explain this theory, I'll like to use the illustration of an ice cube. To change the shape of this ice cube from cube to cuboid. We'll need to unfreeze it into liquid then only we introduce a new mold of the cuboid shape. Then refreeze it again to get the ice cuboid in return.

I find that most of us often skip the first step of unfreezing. Sometimes we straight away jump into process 2 to hope for changes. We attend seminars after seminars, hoping that we'll have a change behaviour after that. But the problem is we didn't unfreeze the existing behaviour that we have. How can we change an ice cube into the shape of cuboid without unfreezing it? So we should unfreeze it by realizing the undesirability of the existing situation and have the thirst for the change. Then only we can accept the change process and the changed self.

It's not only for personal development. Even if we are trying to share with others about changing to a better self. We need to make them realize the need to change, make them understand and accept that they have the need to change themselves, then only they'll willingly go through that change process. Not by forcing them to go through the change process without realizing they have the need to change and hoping that they will be changed after the process.

I think this theory can be applied well in Toastmasters programme. We, as members, know very clearly how it can benefit others and help them to improve their public speaking skills and enhance their confidence as well as self-esteem level. So now it's important for us to know the way to introduce this programme to the public effectively. Most of the time, we tell them how good this programme is and how it can transform them into a better speaker and so on. But we often forgot the first step... the UNFREEZING step. We should try to make them realize their shortcoming present situation and the need to join this programme to improve themselves.

Some of them might be already a good speaker but they might not be a good leader. So we can try to make them realize this shortcoming and the need to improve on this. Some of them might be already a good leader but they might not speak well. We can make them realize this and the need for improvement. Once they realize that they need improvement to be a better self or all-rounded self, they themselves will be finding ways to improve themselves and thirst for such a programme that can help them to improve. Then only come the process 2 of the changing process which they will get once they are a member. They will get to practise and experience the change.

Process 3 will be where the evaluation takes place to reward or to praise them for their work well-done and to give them more rooms for improvement...

I think by implementing this theory, I think we can achieve even more...

Please do comment if you want to add anything or disagree with anything above. I'll love a discussion on this...

Experience in Division N Speech Contest

I can still remember when I ended 1st runner up in both the Area N1 International Speech Contest 2003/2004 and Humorous Speech Contest 2003/2004, I told myself that my dream is to reach the Division Speech Contest Stage one day... And this ONE DAY has come true and it's no longer ONE DAY but it's TODAY!!!

The feeling is so great. I just reached home and bathed and I can't wait any longer to write down my thoughts. I want to share my happiness with everyone. I'm really happy and thrilled. I managed to realize my dream of standing on the Division stage as a contestant today. I manage to realize my dream (and I did it at the expense of my cousin sister Yen, in the sense that I'm using her as my main character in my story.).

I feel that I really learn a lot throughout this contest from the club level to the area level and then to the division level. I realized things that I never knew. I got to experienced how a contest is like and learn a lot of skills to deliver a winning speech. For once, I know this is a serious matter and I really have to put in effort in order to perform it well. I learn to look into the tiny details as every seconds, every words, every pauses and every actions do counts.

It's so different from seeing other people speak on the stage then I myself experienced it. Now I can understand how it actually feels. I'm so happy that I tried my best. The feeling of satisfaction is just great. For those who heard my speech this morning, you will understand what I say now. I'll like to share with you my feeling and things that I saw when I'm on the stage.

When I accidentally knocked down the water, the whole audience was like so worry about me and thinking that I'll mess my whole speech by spilling the water. Once I knocked down the water, I immediately took a glance of the audience expression, they looked so worry and surprised adn some even makes some exclaiming noise. Only KK Chee and my family who were smiling as they were the ones who knew the trick. I hold my laughter and continued with my speech.

Then the next part when I talked about my personal story, the audience were all so quiet and attentive. They were all looking at me feeling so sorry and sad and some of them even start wiping their tears. In my conclusion, some of them nodded their heads. The feeling is so great to look at the audience expression when they listened to my speech.

After your speech, people start talking about my speech and discussing it as a topic during their break time. It's great to know my speech has impacted them and they remembered what was my message. I kept telling myself since the first day I delivered this speech during the club level, I want to deliver my message clearly to everyone. I want to share what I learnt from this painful incident. " Appreciate our Family and Friends and Don't only give them the Leftover time that we have! " So, it's great to know that my message was delivered to them and they have learnt something from listening to my speech.

The feeling was so great when I know I can actually grabs the audience attention and move their hearts. Just feel so good...I don't know how to express this but you really have to be there on the stage only you will know how it feels.

I'm so glad and thankful that I'm given this opportunity to go through this wonderful journey and learning experience that add colours and spices into my life. Just like what KK Chee once said: "We can only know Who We Are until we see What We Can Do". It's so true. Now I know that I can stand in front of such a big crowd to deliver a speech, I can win people's heart by telling stories and I am the Division N 1st runner up!!! Wow!!! I never dreamt of all this. I just want to be on that stage as a contestant. That's my dream and achieved more than that!!!

So I strongly encourage everyone to grab the opportunity to participate in all speech contest whenever you can. You'll be surprised how much you can learn from the whole journey and process. Not only about delivering a speech but also to learn more about yourself and how far can you go.

I'll like to say thank you to some people who really supported me and encouraged me to reach this far.

Thanks God! I kept praying that I can deliver my speech smoothly and He answered my prayer and instead He gave me far more than what I asked...

Thanks my cousin sister Yen. I only started to realized my wrong priorities after losing you. Thanks for making me realize my mistakes and I have the chance to share this to others.

Thanks KK Chee for being my mentor and guided me. I really learnt a lot from you and your experience. I really appreciate what you did as I know you don't have to but still you are so willing to spend your precious time to go through my speech with me and shares the tips of a winning speech with me.

Thanks my mummy for showing me her great support and encouragement not only by showing up in the contest even though my brother is admitted in the hospital but also to listen to me every time I practised my speech.

Thanks my brother Andrew and my sister Ann for listening to my practise, helped to time me and support me by coming to the contest.

Thanks to my dear Steven for your support and encouragement. Thanks for always be there when I needed you most ( although not physically but in my heart... ). It's our 5th Anniversary together tomorrow on the 20th March. I hope this achievement of mine will be your best anniversary gift.
Thanks to all my Butterworth Toastmasters Club members who helped in one way or another and all your support (physically and mentally) especially KK Chee, Esther, Chen, Siew Foong, SC Tee nd Ashley who were there this morning.

Thanks to all Division Council members and Toastmasters friends for your support and encouragement.

Thanks Shin Yi for your presence in the contest even though you had a broken arm and also your sms last night to remind me to sleep earlier so that I can have sweet sweet voice this morning.

Thanks to my classmates Mun Keat, Aftab and Ki Wei for your support by showing up in the contest this morning. I really appreciate that.

Thank you!!!

Is position so important?

Last night, our Butterworth Toastmasters Club EXCO members have our meeting. This is the first time we have full attendance to the meeting. I was so happy to see this "miracle".

Along the discussion, we talked about a name tag for all members. We already have one but some say it's too cheap scale. It should be a better one for the committee members to be recognized and feel respected and appreciated. The name tag that we have now do not have our committee members position on it. It's only the name. Some want the position on it so that others will know what position they are holding and so on.

I can't understand this. During this discussion, I'm just sitting there keeping my mouth shut. I really don't want to open my mouth to say anything as I'm afraid that I might say something wrong and arguement will happen. I kept telling myself that everyone's opinion might not be the same. Although I have my own opinion but not that only my opinion is right. Others may not feel that way. So it's better for me to keep it to myself as I know they will not understand my thoughts too. I did tell them about this but they still insist to do so and want to be recognised, I really have nothing much to say. Let them be...

In my opinion, a position in a non-profit organisation club like Toastmasters is just a way for me to learn more. I want that position not because I want to be recognised or to be known by others as the "whatever" position in the club. I hold that position means that I have more responsibilities while I learn to play the role of that position. It's not that you are superior than others when you hold certain position. Holding a position is to serve but not to be served.

One thing they can't understand is that in this kind of learning club, it's more on what you can do for the club rather than what the club can do for you. The club is not earning any profit and the subscription that you paid is not for the club to refund you with any benefits. It's paid for the learning process and the improvement in your own life. It's even priceless as it's our own self-development. The club is running on a very low resources. Why should we keep asking what can the club do for us?? What should the club give us to show the appreciation of our effort to hold that position?? We may want to benefit from the club program while we were a member of the club but when hold positions, it's more than that. We not only learn from the program but also learn to be a better leader while helping others to improve and benefit from the club program. Our roles are to introduce this program to more people and help them to become a better speaker too. We had benefited from it and know what can the program helps, so it's now our turn to help others.

I did post an article on how on my thoughs on recognition. I will not want to repeat so much. What I want to stress is that we should not look for what other can gives us but what we can give others. We can not control others to give us anything but we can choose to give others what we can.

Perak Trip

Last weekend, 5 of us-Chen, Siew Foong, Yao Tung, Wai Kei and I went to Perak for a 2 days 1 night trip. It was really a very fun trip. I have not been so happy for quite some time already. Err... for me I'm happy but I'm not very sure about others. They might not feel as happy as I am because their ears were suffered. They had to listen to me talk non-stop. Hehe...

Saturday 7.30 early in the morning, Yao Tung drove his car to Megamall Perai to fetch me and Wai Kei from Butterworth side. Off we go heading Ipoh for breakfast. We wanted to go for Fu Shan Dim Sum as Andy Lau told Yao Tung that it's nice, so we decided to try there, afterall it's the most famous dim sum place in Ipoh. We didn't know the way there, only using a map drawn by our artist Yao Tung but luckily we have a very good navigator Wai Kei sitting beside him studying the map. We did stop to ask around. We were quite amazed by Wai Kei's ability to remember the direction. 3 of us girls will definitely forgot the directions if we didn't write down what the people say. We made it to the restaurant around 9.30am with only one try.

By looking at the restaurant you definitely agree that it's really a VERY famous dim sum place. It's so crowded. Basically we have to stand beside the table to wait for the other customers to finish their meal and faster grab the seat. We had to prepare ourselves well for that important and tough stunt, using our brilliant head, sharp eye sight and observation skills to determine which customers will finish their meal faster, then check whether there's anyone standing beside that table to wait already, if no... we have to immediately squeeze our way through the extremely narrow pathway between all the crowded tables and chair to stand beside that table. Luckily I'm slim enough so this stunt is rather not that tough for me...hehe... That's not the end of the stunt yet. While standing beside the tables, we must make sure there's no other people to stand beside this table to compete with us. Once someone walk near, we must immediately use oour eye contact to convey the message "This Table Is Mine!!!" to them. We waited patiently for almost 15minutes or so until they stand up. Once their butt are off the chair, we immediately use our butt to stick on that chair.

That's the whole stunt to get a place to sit. But mind you, once you sit down and started your meal, there will be another person standing beside your table, repeating all the stunt to wait for you to get up. It's too crowded until the dim sum trolley hardly get to pass by our table. Most of the time we have to squeeze our way through to the trolley to get our own food. The most "memorable" thing is that the big fishball costs RM1.30 each. So EXPENSIVE!!! For 5 of us, we pay RM57. Afterall, I think the dim sum there is just normal. The taste is a bit different but I think Penang dim sum is tastier. Anyway, we paid for the experience and memory...

After that, we went to Perak Cave. There are a lot of steps. So tiring. Only3 of us- Yao Tung, Siew Foong and I managed to climb til the hill top, the highest point. That shows Chen and Wai Kei are the xxxest among us. hehe. The scenery there is quite nice. We took a lot of pictures. This is my first time visit the cave. It's very AWESOME. That's all natural, not man made. How beautiful is God's creation that no man can ever do so. We also went through a big challenge there. There were a lot of monkeys. When Chen saw the monkey, she's the only one kept shouting "Wah... You see, the monkeys tails are so long. Penang's monkey's tails not so long!!!". ..sigh.. Anyway, the monkey there were very fierce. They were mating and we took our camera out to take some shots, who knows...the male one got angry as we spoilt his "party", it wanted to attack us and it's really scary. It stood at the steps and didn't allow us to go down. We stood there frightened and waited for awhile then only rushed our way down.

We then tried to figure our way by asking people around to go to the Kek Lok Cave. When wereached the parking space, the worker took care of the car park used a feather duster to direct our way to the car park. So weird. But we managed to find out why they use feather duster. When you parked your car, they'll use the feather duster to clean your car while waiting for you to come out and pay them. What a brilliant idea!! This cave was even nicer. After the cave, there was a big Lotus Pond. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time I saw such nice Lotus flower. It's so beautiful. Then Siew Foong and Chen told us that we can eat the seed of the Lotus flower. So we walked around the pond to look for any seed thatis nearer and we can get it. We found one and Yao Tung was our hero to steal...Oops, I think I used the wrong word, not steal, but to reach out to the seed and save it from being burned by the sunlight and become dry, by plucking it for us to taste.

Lunch time, we travelled around and found one very interesting roasted duck restaurant, we walked pass it and the smells stopped us and we were FORCED to go in or else we'll feel guilty for our taste bud and stomach. The food is nice but the portion is small. I'm not sure whether is the portion small or the plate is too big. Anyway, we enjoyed our lunch very much.

Then, we went to the Lata Kinjang Waterfall. It's a Saturday so a lot of people went there too. The place was very dirty. Visitors who went for picnic just throw all their garbage there. No only clean it too. It really spoilt the beautiful scenery of the waterfall. We walked up to the highest place where the water directly come down to us. That spot was the cleanest spot as we got to use the water first hand. The water was extremely cold and strong. Only Yao Tung and Wai Kei managed to stand under the place where the water directly rushed down from the hill. Wai Kei's body was red as he didn't wear his shirt. Around 5.30pm we walked back to the car to get ourselves changed. The toilet there was really earning huge profit. They collected 50cents each time you went in. The worst part was they didn't clean the toilet. Collect money but no need to clean. What a good business to invest. It's so dirty and disgusting that after you went in, you will not feel like bathing but just change.

We travelled to Langkap where Chen's stay. Her house is big. She even has a well in her house. But a lot of mosquitoes. The mosquito spesies there were different. It's just SOoooooo itchy... We rested and bathed. I can't stand the heaty weather and maybe I slept late for a couple of days too. Yao Tung and I can't stand the headache and had to eat panadols. I had to lie down and take a short nap to recharge my battery. Then we went out to a restaurant nearby for our dinner with Chen's family members. Chen's brother was so generous and he treated us a very nice meal. We had big prawns, two fishes, crabs and so on... Chen's sister is a very nice person and she can talk with us. She actually thought that Yao Tung is only 17 and Wai Kei is only 20. I can't believe that!!! She guessed all our age wrong. She thought we were so much younger.

Langkap is just a very small town and nothing much there. We went to a minimarket nearby to buy Nescafe, planning to stay up late tonight to play cards. They thought me how to play "jimlami", I don't know how to spell it or what's the correct pronunction of that game, but it sounds like that. hehe. Wai Kei didn't join us as he's the first one to feel sleepy and went to bed quite early. It's a very nice game, but it's only nice for me and Siew Foong as only both of us always win the games. Poor Chen and Yao Tung had to shuffle and distribute the cards always until they can't stand it anymore and asked to change the rules-those who win will have to distribute the cards instead of those who lose. Siew Foong and I also pity them so we agreed with the new rules. So for the second half of the game, Siew Foong and I have to shuffle the cards as still both of us leading. We played til around 2am and went to bed. I can't sleep, very hungry but I can't wake them up to find food. Poor me, have to force myself to sleep in hungryness.

Early in the morning around 7.30am, Chen woke me up. I was still very blur in my dream, so I asked her what for ask me to wake up so early. Then only I remembered we had to go for breakfast with her family members. I walked out and saw that I still have to line up for my queue to wash up so I decided to stick to my bed for another few minutes and be the last one to wash up. Someone knocked the door and I thought it's my turn so I immediately jumped up and got my stuff, but Yao Tung was the culprit who only knocked the door for fun. He still haven't wash up. With my blur face, I sighed and closed back the door and continue my sleep until he's done then only I willing to wash up.

We went for Dim Sum again in a restaurant there. There were not much of varieties. The dim sum was not bad except for the "lo bak go". It tasted weird but I didn't know how weird is it until Siew Foong said that it tasted like cockroaches. Urghh.... Anyway, Chen's brother treated us again. We continue to sit there and chat for hours since no one is standing beside us to wait for us to get up like in Fu Shan. Chen gave us some riddles and we shared jokes. Lots of laughters...

After the breakfast, we drove around and went to the neighborhood town called Chui Chak which I never heard before. That's paddy field all along the road. We saw some beautiful white birds in the paddy field and decided to stop our car and went down to the paddy field for a walk and to take some pictures. But who knows by the time we walked there, the birds were all gone. No birds left for us to take any pictures. But we found something interesting. We saw some red or pink small little "thing" near the paddy field. It sticks on the drain and the side there. Out of curiousity, we did some experiment by poking it and there were some red liquid flowing out. There were a lot of snails there too.

It was a very very hot day, we went back to our car, Yao Tung drove into a small kampung and wanted to make a U-turn, then we saw a notice board there with the pictures of the red or pink thing. We then realize that was the bad spesies that spoilt the paddy. They were asking us to destroy all the things. So we did something great just now by poking it. hehe. ( Sorry that I have to keep on saying that "thing" as I don't know what is it called. )

We went back to Chen's house and continued our cards game until aorund 1 something. We went out for lunch. Chen's eldest sister is a cook, she has an economy rice stalls just around her house. So we went there to have our FREE lunch again. The food was nice although not much left as we came out too late. Chen's sister then introduced us something new, it's called "hungry ghost pao". It's like normally pao here but it's long in shape. It's long and cut into 4 pieces. The pao is really nice. We bought some back.

Then we went to Anson or Teluk Intan. Now only I know these two names are the same place. Before this, I thought it's two different places. We went to the Anson Leaning Tower. It's really leaning. We went inside and saw some very weird and interesting signboard. "All couples who went into the tower must come out in 10 minutes time." Weird isn't it? What kind of rules is that? What can a couple do inside the tower??

We went to the Anson River, sat there for a chat. Then we went to buy the famous Anson Biscuit. I bought some back as I know my family loves that biscuit. Wai Kei bought the most. Maybe he has too many girl friends so he had to buy more... Then we drove back to Chen's house. On the way, we had a lot of interesting conversation. We talked about Wai Kei and Yao Tung's character and dug stories from everyone of us. I realized that I like to talk to Wai Kei or rather listen to him speak. He's willing to share things that he know and has his own opinion towards things too. I learnt a lot from his conversation. It prompted me to think of things that i never thought of before.

We bathed and packed our things. Chen's sister with her family in a car guided us the way to Kampar famous makan place. We ate together and so "paiseh" that her sister treated us again. She told us that there are some very nice buildings near the new Kampar TAR college, she described and said it's like european building. We can't really believe that but once we reached there, we were like kampung people first time go to KL and saw nice building. The building there are really very nice. Unvelievable!!! You can't believe that in such a small town Kampar will have such a nice building with all the modern cafe there. We ran down to take some pictures but who knows the minute we went down, rain started pouring so we only managed to get a few pictures. After that, we said goodbye to Chen's sister and travelled our way back to Penang.

On the way, we continue our interesting conversation. That's the time, they realized I can't stop talking for even 1 minute. I'm so noisy and talkative. hehe... My apologies if I made you guys feel irritated. We dropped Wai Kei back to his house in Tambun and went inside to have a look. I like the dining table very much.

Then, our kind hearted Yao Tung fetched me back to my grandma's house in Perai. That's our trip to Perak. This is my first time going somewhere with them as I missed their last trip to Tasik Kenyir. I really love travelling around like this with a bunch of close friends. Thanks a lot for bringing me along ya!!! So if they don't ask me to go with them for their next trip, then I'll understand is because I'm too noisy. hehe...
